What to Expect

~ Your massage or bodywork session will take place in the comfort of your home. Soft music will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort. A typical full body session will include work on your head, neck shoulders, back, arms, legs and feet.

~ Prior to your session, you will be given time to relax and ask any questions. This is the time to explain to your therapist what areas of tension you would like he/she to give special attention to and/or to express any of your physical or medical conditions. It is imperative that you inform your therapist of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session.

~ It is best that you remove as much clothing as you are comfortable with. You will be properly draped and covered with a sheet at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. The therapist will leave the room while you undress so you can get situated on the table and cover yourself with the sheet.

~ Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session. Either is completely acceptable. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible but please keep talking to a whisper as there may be other clients receiving their session at the same time.

~ During the session your comfort is key to allow healing. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax and relieve specific areas of muscular tension. You should communicate with your therapist immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.

~ High quality oils are used to allow your muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin. These products should hydrate your skin and be readily absorbed.

~ Most people feel very relaxed after a session. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension and repetitive activity. You may feel some soreness after special attention has been given on specific tension areas. This usually lasts only a few hours. The following day, however, the original area of tension should decrease. Since toxins are released from your muscles during a massage, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.

~ Above all, please make your needs known; I am here to provide you with exceptional service and it is my goal that you experience a rewarding and relaxing session every time!

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Genifer :-)
